To usher in the Spring season, the Weekend Argus is hosting the Women’s Wellness Experience on September 28 where some of the Cape’s leading women will gather to exchange chunks of valuable information.
Set on the backdrop of the beautiful President Hotel, the event aims to empower women through wellness.
The all-women’s social gathering is packed with various speakers and attendees get to ask questions and engage with the services brought right to the event, all this coupled with a jam-packed goodie bag on the day.
Ahead of the big event Dietitian Kirby Hendricks, said she was amped to have her session at the Women’s Wellness Experience.
“Attendees will gain a better understanding of how nutrition plays a crucial role in managing reproductive health and navigating menopause. We’ll explore practical dietary strategies tailored to support hormone balance, energy levels, and overall well-being during this phase of life.
“Diet is a powerful tool in managing the unique challenges women face as they age. Due to hormonal changes and metabolic shifts throughout the life stages, things like weight loss during or after menopause can be challenging for many women.
“Understanding how what we eat impacts our hormones, metabolism, and mood can help us make informed choices that enhance our quality of life and prevent common health issues such as cardiovascular disease.”
Hendricks give us a sneak peek into some of the practical tips she will be sharing to help women eat healthier without sacrificing their busy schedules.
“I’ll be sharing time-saving tips looking at simple swaps that can make a big difference without adding stress to your day. But what is also important is understanding how to incorporating nutrient-dense foods into daily routines, and what that can look like day to day and how to create balanced meals that support hormone health, moreover how to increase calcium rich foods to improve bone health, how to increase fibre to help with weight management, and how much protein one should be eating daily to prevent muscle loss.”
