Sihle Ndaba, a former ‘Uzalo’ actress, has responded to trolls on social media who have made disparaging remarks about her physical appearance, and warned that she will not put up with the harassment.

Ndaba reacted on TikTok to a delicate post in which it was implied that she was “dying soon”, which she described as bullying and disrespectful.

She said she had posted the video to interact and have fun with her followers. “I don’t like responding to nonsense, but there’s a tendency of disrespecting each other. First of all, when I posted that video and you can go and refer back to it, it was just a joke. It was just a joke because I want to have fun and interact with you and get to know you guys. But this is unacceptable, guys.

“We were taught better, and we know better than what we are doing right now. Social media bullying is not okay; commenting on people’s weight is not okay; you do not know me; we do not know each other. There’s a tendency to disrespect each other. Can we please stop this? It is not good; it is not a good look. Also, I am very disappointed because it is my people.”

Ndaba went on to say that although she loved people she would block anyone who made offensive remarks or continued to disrespect her.

“Why are we doing like this, guys? I was not willing to respond to this; if you go on that video, there are so many horrible comments. What is your problem? do better because there are kids here, and this is how we behave. So just in case you are not sure, my name is Sihle Ndaba. That is what I do for a living, but I am a human first, and I love people. And I show up for you guys, and I show up for myself and my family. But this is very disrespectful. And quite frankly is rude; I am going to start blocking you guys,’’ she warned.

Ndaba’s career has flourished since she first gained recognition as Smangele, and as one of the original cast members of ‘Uzalo’.

She has secured two significant roles in 2024, starting with Netflix’s ‘A Soweto Love Story’, and now starring in Showmax’s ‘One Weeks’.

‘One Weeks’ follows Fana, a Soweto high school dropout, as he falls in love with successful lawyer Lihle but must rely on Angie, her perceptive 10-year-old daughter, to prevent Lihle from marrying a wealthy men.
