Award-winning musician Makhadzi has capped off an extraordinary year with her electrifying One Woman Show at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, Limpopo on Saturday.

The event, which attracted a roaring crowd of thousands, not only showcased her musical talents but also highlighted her ascent from humble beginnings to becoming a mainstay in South Africa’s vibrant entertainment scene.

Congratulatory messages from fans and fellow artists flooded social media, underscoring the momentous occasion.

Limpopo's Premier, Dr Phophi Ramathuba, expressed her pride in Makhadzi's achievements, stating, “She remains No.1. She has done 🔥 it; we are very proud of her as a province. Filling up Peter Mokaba Stadium with one of our own is massive. Well done and congratulations @MakhadziSA. Continue to inspire a girl child.”

Others in the industry, including notable artists like Cassper Nyovest and Sho Madjozi, joined in celebrating Makhadzi’s accomplishment.

Nyovest exclaimed, “Wow wow wow wow !!!! Congratulations to Makhadzi for filling up Peter Mokaba Stadium.”Madjozi placed emphasis on Makhadzi's grassroots journey: “This is not a label; this is sheer ambition, sheer drive and power. An artist that is for and by the people.’’

Amidst the celebration, some fans noted that while the event faced organisational hiccups, the significance of Makhadzi’s ascent from the dusty streets of Venda to headlining a stadium concert was both inspiring and celebratory.

One fan @Talklessers encapsulated this sentiment: “Makhadzi has managed to fill Peter Mokaba stadium; she has done well, even though her management didn’t organise the event very well. Keep going, Queen.’’

The One Woman Show featured an array of local artists, including Nkosazana Daughter, Kharishma, Lwa Ndlunkulu, Janesh & Abi Wa Mampela, and Zola 7, with more acts yet to be announced, showcasing the vibrant talent within South Africa's music landscape.

Furthermore, Minister of Sport, Arts, and Culture, Gayton McKenzie, expressed his unwavering support for Makhadzi, committing to purchase 200 tickets to ensure that more fans could celebrate this momentous occasion. His gesture was indicative of the artist's impact on her community and the industry at large.

The artist’s dedication and hard work were also acknowledged at the recent QG awards, where she received the Entertainer Game Changer Award, further solidifying her status as an influential figure in South Africa’s entertainment scene.
