Renowned podcaster MacGyver Mukwevho, fondly known as MacG, has publicly apologised to musician Nkosazana Daughter after touching off a firestorm with provocative speculations that led to a legal action against him.
In a recent episode of his podcast, Mukwevho made a public apology that has drawn attention, stemming from his controversial claims.
Speaking alongside co-host Sol Phenduka, Mukwevho clarified that his apology was not a response to the lawsuit filed against him by Nkosazana Daughter but rather an acknowledgement of misinformation shared during the podcast.
This comes after allegations surfaced claiming that Mukwevho speculated about Nkosazana Daughter’s personal life, including romantic ties to fellow musician Master KG, and made remarks concerning her child.
In an exchange with his co-host, Mukwevho recounted a conversation with Nkosazana Daughter’s brother, who shared a photograph of her child.
“So last week, Sfiso came with Nkosazana Daughter’s brother. Remember we shot an episode with Sfiso? So when we were downstairs, Nkosazana’s brother showed me a picture of her child. And, ja, no, we were wrong; she looks just like Sir Trill. So I want to apologise to Nkosazana for that. Now it seems like I am saying sorry because of the lawsuit, but I am not. It is because we were wrong,” he said.
Nkosazana Daughter had previously responded to the backlash spawned by Mukwevho’s claims, underscoring the rampant disrespect faced by women in the entertainment industry.
She further reiterated that her relationship with Master KG was professional in nature and that it is neither romantic nor sexual, underscoring the lack of respect constantly shown to women in the entertainment industry.
“We have families at home like you that watch these things you say; as for my relationship with Sir Trill, it was never a secret but private. Even before you even knew me. All this for views? I’m so disappointed at how low people can go, not to mention how women are so disrespected in this industry.
“It’s so unfortunate that you will never see the amount of work that we have put out; because I’m female, I must be sleeping with him. Disgusting. I assure you big time, my relationship with Master K is not romantic or sexual! Like I said before, KG and I only work together, but it’s like there’s people trying to convince you that there is more and there is no such thing,’’ she said.
