Zoalize Jansen van Rensburg, crowned Miss World South Africa 2024, is filled with pride after clinching the coveted title, highlighting that it is a vessel for change.

Jansen van Rensburg, a digital and marketing executive from Pretoria, believes she has the qualities to bring back the Miss World crown to SA at the 72nd Miss World pageant in February 2025.

The beauty queen also collaborates with various charities to tackle issues like gender-based violence, rape, domestic abuse, welfare injustice, and human trafficking in her communities.

“One of our new partners is a non-profit called ‘Unchain Our Children’, which focusses on combating injustice in various cases, such as gender-based violence, rape, domestic abuse, welfare injustice, and human trafficking.

“I believe that I have the qualities to bring back the 4th blue (Miss World) crown for and to South Africa. That crown is my biggest ambition because it is a vessel for change, and that in itself holds so much power,’’ Jansen van Rensburg said.

Her project, Beauty with a Purpose: Never Too Young to Advocate (NTYTA), a digital platform that aims to provide children with worldwide visibility and accessibility, was one of the things that made an impression on the judges.

“Our organisation focusses on three essential pillars: educate, graduate, and advocate. I hope to use the power of social media to enrich our community with mental fortitude as well as encouragement. This is the key foundation needed to integrate our youth into positions of acknowledgement.

“Amongst others, NTYA initiatives include daily affirmative content, loud minutes, reaching one's highest potential, workshops, an e-guide on building curriculum vitae, global ambassadorship positions, and others,” she said.

Speaking about her win Carol Bouwer, license holder and President of the Miss World South Africa Organisation, said: “Pageants are a festival of grace, diversity, elegance, beauty, talent, inner beauty, and charisma and provide a platform for contestants to showcase confidence and intelligence; all in all, a culmination of intense preparation and hard work, and Zoalize demonstrated these qualities.”

Bouwer further praised Jansen van Rensburg as a force to be reckoned with for showcasing her distinctive competencies, which would serve as an inspiration to a lot of people.

“You have demonstrated to all of us that you are more than just a pretty face, but a force to be reckoned with as you showcased your unique qualities, which will undoubtedly inspire many others with your grace and charm,” she said.

The Miss World competition focusses on Beauty with a Purpose, encouraging contestants to create and execute their own personal project to present at the event.
