Johannesburg - Renowned music artists DJ Zinhle and Mvzzle have returned to rock the summer with a new spiritual single, Ngisimamise, featuring rising artist Sindi Nkosazana.
DJ Zinhle and Mvzzle met on the set of the popular SABC DJ talent show 1s and 2s, then went on to create together the popular hit single Umlilo.
Since Umlilo, the duo have always wanted to work together on another track, and the opportunity presented itself with their latest single, Ngisimamise.
Asked about the release of their new single, DJ Zinhle said working with Mvzzle gave her confidence.
“I have a lot of ideas in my head, and working with Mvzzle has given me so much confidence because he believes in my ideas and is able to translate them into music. We work very well together; he has his strengths in the studio, and I have mine. We always find a middle ground,” said Zinhle.
Ngisimamise also features Sindi Nkosazana, the multi-talented vocalist and song writer. Mvzzle introduced DJ Zinhle to Nkosazana and the DJ knew immediately that she wanted to work with her.
“She is super talented, and her energy is amazing,” she says.
It is explained that Ngisimamise is a song of hope, which is always the essence of DJ Zinhle’s music, and she absolutely loves releasing music that inspires her listeners.
The Umlilo hitmaker shares what the song means, highlighting that she is reminding her listeners about the promise of God.
Ngisimamise means “lift me up” and I am reminding my listeners of this promise from God. We took this song to different environments and switched it up or adjusted it according to the reception at various places until we finally got ‘the’ sound,“ she says.
When these popular artists made the decision to release the song, they felt how special it was and how it made people feel.
The inspiration has always been hope, and when they felt that’s what the song gives people, they released it. This is a dance floor banger that brings people to tears, and whether or not DJ Zinhle, Sindi Nkosazana, and Mvzzle will have a joint album is a mystery for now. But anything can happen.
