The City of Mangaung will once again become the melting pot of arts, culture, entertainment and sport as the City of Roses oversees the return of its flagship cultural event, the Cultural Urban Festival Africa (CUFA).
Among those who will be the centre of attraction from October 3 to 13 include the likes of Zonke, Lira, Maleh, and DJ Zinhle, while the Scorpion Kings Showcase will feature DJ Maphorisa and Kabza de Small as headline acts of this electrifying event set to bring the best of Amapiano to Mangaung.
Mangaung will host the largest and most dynamic cultural event on the continent, bringing together music, sport, art, and comedy in a spectacular 10-day festival.
The CUFA Fest became more than just a festival, becoming a cultural revolution and a big contributor to the Free State’s economic and cultural growth and diversity.
This year’s attractions include Woman to Woman Music Concert: A powerful evening of music, empowerment, and sisterhood featuring top artists such as Zonke, Lira, Maleh, and DJ Zinhle.
There will also be the Global Stage All-White Music Festival, an event that will feature a mix of local and international stars, including Prince Kaybee, Oscar Mbo, Vusi Nova, Zonke, Alayen, and Semito, making it a highlight of the festival.
For football lovers, the CUFA Cup will be a must-see sporting event that will bring together two of Africa’s biggest soccer giants (Premier Soccer League teams) in a thrilling showdown, broadcast live to millions.
For car spinning enthusiasts, the CUFA Spin and Drift will be their ultimate sporting event that will rev up and thrill audiences with heart-pounding spinning and drifting performances by top professionals.
For art, craft and food lovers, the CUFA Cultural Village will be another vibrant five-day event featuring arts, crafts, local food, traditional Basotho culture expos, indigenous games, and a dedicated kiddies’ village.
Free State Premier, Maqueen Mathae, Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng, MEC Zanele Sifuba, and Connie Ferguson will lead the Woman Empowerment Expo, which will also feature influential women from across South Africa.
Festival director, Ben Moseme, speaking to Newzroom Afrika ahead of this week’s official launch of the festival, said it will showcase the best of what the City of Roses has to offer.
“The festival is a 10-day activity which launches on October 3 where we will be showcasing our beautiful city. There will be comedy, music, arts and crafts and inspirational talks and music events and comedy by some of the biggest names in the country. For comedy there is also a big Free State line-up including guest comedians,” he said.
The full festival schedule and additional details will be announced at the official media launch on Friday, October 3, which will be broadcast live on TV and radio.
