DURBAN – AmaZulu don’t lose when Emiliano Tade scores. The Argentinian international has netted five goals in 12 appearances in the Absa Premiership so far this season.
Yesterday, Tade walked away with the Player of the Month gong for November/December following his exploits for AmaZulu.
Tade is expected to play a pivotal role when Usuthu welcome Lamontville Golden Arrows to King Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday at 3.30pm in the battle for KwaZulu-Natal bragging rights and, more importantly, three points.
Despite all of his achievements and a great start to his journey with Usuthu, the well-travelled marksman is taking things slowly without putting too much pressure on himself.
“I don’t have any pressure over my shoulder. Last weekend Ovidy (Karuru) is the one who scored and I didn’t score. It gave us that little bit of hope in the game (when they lost 3-1 against Black Leopards),” Tade said yesterday.
“It is not about me but obviously as a player you want to be consistent. If my consistency is about helping the team win by scoring or assisting, I’m happy. It is all about the team.”
Tade scored three goals in five games in November and December. He notched a brace against Bloemfontein Celtic last week at King Zwelithini Stadium and also scored an important strike as Usuthu brushed off Highlands Park 2-1 away.
“It is an honour and a pleasure to win an award like this. Obviously it is not something that I’ve worked for. If the work that I’m doing comes down to these awards, it is good. This comes down as a result of the good momentum of the team.”
The Argentinian is trailing Mothibi Mvala of Highlands Park by one goal in the race for the Golden Boot.
AmaZulu coach Cavin Johnson was chosen as the Coach of the Month for November/December as he guided Usuthu to three victories, one draw and one defeat.
