Former Richards Bay FC coach, Vusumuzi "Kanu" Vilakazi has been appointed as the new head coach of AmaZulu's Dstv Diski Challenge (DDC) team for the 2024/25 season.
The KwaZulu -Natal based outfit confirmed the news in a statement this week, saying Kanu’s experience will greatly benefit Usuthu's reserve side as they seek to clinch the DDC title.
“Kanu as he is affectionately known, joins us with a wealth of experience, having previously excelled at both the DDC level and premiership level. We are confident that his expertise and vision will greatly benefit our team.
"We extend our best wishes to Vusumuzi as he embarks on this new journey with us", the statement read.

Vilakazi parted ways with the "Natal Rich Boys" last month despite helping the club avoid relegation from the Betway Premiership last season.
After his departure from Richards Bay, Vilakazi revealed that he had refused to sign a new amended contract that had a performance clause.
Meanwhile, Sekhukhune United have re-appointed Lehlohonolo Seema, as the club's head coach after the departure of German coach Peter Hyballa.
Sekhukhune had a great run in the premiership last season ending in fourth place in the league table, and Seema will be hoping that he can lead the Limpopo-based side to an improved finish this term.
