Europe’s new UEFA Champions League season continues, with the inaugural 36-team league format.

Manchester City continue their malaise with defeat to Juventus, jeopardising chances of a UEFA Champions League Last 16 berth — Liverpool continue to head the table with a perfect record of six wins.

The 70th season of Europe's elite club competition, and the 33rd since it was renamed the UEFA Champions League, this is the first under the new format. It kicked off on July 9, 2024 with the qualifiers, and runs until the final on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany.

Real Madrid are defending champions having defeated Borussia Dortmund in the 2024 final.

The UEFA Champions League is contested by the highest ranked teams of the strongest UEFA national associations.

It is the top club competition in European football and one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world. The Champions League final is the most watched annual sporting event worldwide.
