Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be willing to fork out R15 million to secure the services of highly rated Tanzanian midfielder Feisal Salum.

Salum is in the books of Azam FC and is one the best players Tanzanian Premier League. He was the second-highest goal scorer in the league last season with 19 goals.

Amakhosi were hoping to bounce back after a disappointing 10th-place finish in the league last season. However, things have not gone according to plan despite making significant investments in the transfer market before the start of the season.

They currently sit ninth in the Betway Premiership standings, with just 11 points from eight matches. Coach Nasreddine Nabi, brought in to bring back the club's glory days, has stressed the importance of strengthening the squad amid their struggles again this season.

It appears that Amakhosi are responding to his calls. According to Soccer Laduma, an insider privy to the situation confirmed that the Soweto giants are prepared to table an R15 million offer Salum.

“The club has taken the proposal by assistant coach Cedric Kaze very seriously concerning the need to sign Tanzanian midfielder Feisal Salum from Azam FC and that is why they have made an offer.

“It’s not in the region of around R30 million that the club asked for the player when Sundowns inquired about him but it’s a good offer from Chiefs who have a tight budget at the moment.

"It will all depend on the other conditions and clauses in the proposal which could motivate Azam to consider what Chiefs have put on the table,” the insider told the publication
