Former Orlando Pirates administrator Floyd Mbele has allegedly been fired by Sekhukhune United FC after alleged clashes with coaches and staff members at the club.
Mbele is an experienced administrator having cut his teeth at the South African Students Sports Union (SASSU) before joining Soweto giants Orlando Pirates.
Mbele joined Babina Noko last year after stepping down from his role with the Soweto giants.
According to FarPost, a source has revealed that the decision to let go of Mbele came after the hierarchy at the club considered the "well-being of everyone involved, as he was almost impossible to work with"
“Floyd Mbele has been fired from Sekhukhune after having a fallout with the club’s top management. One of the key reasons for his termination was his challenges in working with the coaches and other staff members" the source told the publication.
"The club decided to part ways with him to ensure the well-being of everyone involved, as he was almost impossible to work with. He was fired a while back"
The report further alleges that Mbele is said to be one of the reasons why former Bafana Bafana international Elias Mokwana joined North African outfit Esperance instead of Kaizer Chiefs
"As per reports, Mbele played a pivotal role in thwarting Kaizer Chiefs’ pursuit of Mokwana, a move that continues to rankle Amakhosi supporters.
"Furthermore, Mbele's involvement in Mokwana’s subsequent transfer to Esperance raised eyebrows, as he accompanied the player to Tunisia instead of the player’s agent," the FarPost report read.
