Toulon's Yannick Youyoutte has been suspended for five weeks for a dangerous tackle on Manie Libbok during their Champions Cup opener, tournament organisers EPCR said Thursday.

Springboks and Stormers flyhalf Libbok was taken to hospital with concussion after being knocked out by lock Youyoutte in the 72nd minute of the 24-14 win for the French club at Gqeberha.

Youyoutte could see his sanction reduced by one week if the 25-year-old participates in the World Rugby coaching intervention programme, the EPCR said.

Libbok, 27, will miss the South African team's second-round game at Harlequins this weekend as a result of concussion protocols.

Youyoutte will miss Toulon's next Champions Cup game against Glasgow Warriors and the following three Top 14 clashes against Pau, Bordeaux-Begles and Racing 92.
