Springboks assistant coach Mzwandile Stick has become the first coach in the South African sports environment to join Roc Nation Sports International.

Roc Nation Sports, a global sports agency powerhouse, entered the South African rugby market after the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan, where the Springboks lifted the Webb-Ellis title.

Since then they have signed Springbok superstars such as Siya Kolisi and Cheslin Kolbe. Now they signed their first coach, with Stick putting pen to paper for Roc Nation Sports to manage his affairs.

“This strategic decision marks a significant step at this stage of his career, allowing Stick to focus on his core passion of coaching, while receiving comprehensive support for his broader aspirations,” Roc Nation Sports said in a statement.

“Stick, renowned for his immense passion and dedication to the sport, emphasises that his primary focus remains on his coaching duties with the national rugby team, while welcoming the assistance of a comprehensive support team.”

Stick is thrilled to have Roc Nation’s support during the next step of his coaching journey.

“Coaching is what I live for,” Stick stated. “It's where my heart is, and I want to ensure that I can continue to give my all to the team, but I fully appreciate the value of having a strong team behind me, and feel it is the right time to take this step with Roc Nation Sports International.”

Roc Nation Sports says Stick’s deeply committed to making a positive difference in people's lives, using his platform to inspire and empower others. They want to amplify these efforts, allowing him to reach a wider audience and create meaningful change.

“Mzwandile Stick is a remarkable individual, both as a coach and as a person. His passion, integrity, and commitment to making a difference align perfectly with our values, and we are so excited to see him become the first coach from South Africa to join RNSI,” said Roc Nation Sports’ president Michael Yormark.

“We are fully committed to supporting his coaching goals and off-field ambitions, while also assisting in facilitating commercial opportunities and building his profile.”
