Johannesburg - This week we feature South African TikTok star and World Championship Of Performing Arts finalist Alexa Paige.
After numerous achievements and performances abroad, along with a string of viral videos on TikTok, the 20 year old has now released a summer-ready pop anthem, Want You Back, which has been co-written with and produced by two time Sama-nominated artist-producer Daniel Baron.
In 2019 Paige received South African colours in performing arts, and won three Gold Medals.
This catapulted her into the international scene as she qualified for the World Championship in Performing Arts, when she received her Protea colours and Green Blazer.
After becoming a finalist in the worldwide championship that took take in Los Angeles, California, she started receiving a large amount of international attention and offers from agencies and talent managers alike, which she turned down in order to finish her schooling.
The key to being a great content producer is … ?
In my experience, it takes consistency and one or two hilarious or stupid videos.
Which three TikTok accounts should every South African be following?
Definitely, Will Linley, he is super talented. Anna Paul is definitely my favourite content creator to watch when I have a low day. Lizzo is my all-time favourite person to watch when I want something funny or entertaining, especially on TikTok.
Tell us about the worst date you've ever had?
I went on a tinder date and my date took his shoe off and asked me to smell his feet. Thus, the beginning of my foot phobia.
Your favourite restaurant in SA is? And what do you order?
Yamakado in Cedar Square. I always order a crispy chicken bowl, with sweat and spicy soup.

One is a black leather jacket that I thrifted in Amsterdam.
Your biggest regret in life is … ?
So far as a 21 year old I don’t have many regrets yet and hopefully never will but I do wish I started believing in myself earlier when it came to my music.
A wild night out or Netflix and chill?
It depends on what’s going on in my life at that moment. I can do both and it depends on who’s getting the tequila shots ;)
A bar in SA is honouring you with a cocktail in your name. You get to choose the ingredients. What goes into the cocktail?
Tequila, white wine and maybe some water. Does not sound good at all
The best Christmas gift you have ever received is … ?
I got a car for Christmas and I was beyond grateful.
