The Powerball jackpot for the September 6, draw is a guaranteed R90 million.
The National Lottery Ithuba announced that the draw will take place on Friday at 9pm and will be televised on eTv.
The last big Powerball jackpot — of R70 million — was won in May by one person.
This was followed by the R59 million Powerball jackpot win in July, by a KwaZulu-Natal resident.
The winner opted for a quick-pick selection using their banking app.
One of the most recent wins, was a KZN couple who won R16 million in the Powerball Plus jackpot.
The couple who are both in their 60s plan to get private medical care.
The winning ticket was purchased at a local retailer and the couple opted for a quick pick selection worth R22,50.
Ithuba CEO Charmaine Mabuza said: “We are excited to announce yet another potentially life-changing guaranteed jackpot and as we often say at Ithuba, you have to be in it to (stand a chance to) win it.
“We wait in anticipation for this Friday’s draw which will hopefully create yet another new multi-millionaire.”
Ithuba reminded players of the rules of the games, which includes that players must be 18 years and owner.
That tickets were valid for 365 days from the date of the draw.
Winners who receive winnings of R50,000 and above receive free trauma counselling from professional psychologists, and financial advice from accredited financial advisors at no cost.
