The Lotto jackpot for Saturday’s draw is a whopping guaranteed R100million.
The National Lottery Operator Ithuba said has rolled over 25 consecutive times.
This jackpot is the second highest jackpot in Lotto history.
According to Ithuba the highest jackpot of R110million was won in 2018 by four people.
Three of the winners purchased their tickets from retail stores in Western Cape and Kwazulu-Natal, while the fourth winner played using the FNB banking App.
The youngest winner, aged 19, played Lotto for the first time.
Ithuba said since taking over the National Lottery in 2015 they have paid out over R27 billion in winnings.
Sharing her excitement was Ithuba CEO Charmaine Mabuza said: "In the history of the game, the lotto jackpot has only ever exceeded R100 million once, in 2018.
“Therefore we celebrate this jackpot as it is quite monumental for us as well as our participants.”
Ithuba reminded its players that all winners of R50,000 receive free financial advice and that tickets were valid for 365 days from the date of the draw.
In a recent winner story, a Western Cape resident who bagged over R7 million in the Lotto Plus 1 jackpot, said winning this money has granted her the freedom to enjoy her job “without the stress of making ends meet.”
The mother of two won R7,804,904.60 from the July 24, 2024 draw.
