In less than 24 hours, emergency workers have responded to another incident of a foetus being dumped.
This time, ALS Paramedics responded to a foetus discovery in Monty Naicker Road in the Durban CBD on Wednesday morning.
Paramedics arrived in the South Beach area to find Durban Metro Police and other emergency services on scene, ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said.
"Paramedics were shown to where a foetus was dumped in a toilet at a private residence.
"Paramedics assessed and found it was actually two foetuses, believed to be twins, and unfortunately there was nothing more paramedics could do for them and they were declared deceased on scene."
Jamieson said this was an active crime scene and SAPS cordoned off the area to conduct an investigation.
"A search for the mother is under way."
Jamieson said there was an increase of baby dumping in the Durban area and urged members of the public to please make use of the necessary authorities to hand your child over to, instead of dumping them.
"Approach government or clinic for help."
On Tuesday a foetus was found dumped in Morningside, Durban.
The foetus has been placed in a plastic bag on the side of the road.
