The State is expected to serve its indictment on five men accused of orchestrating and killing South African rapper, Kiernan 'AKA' Forbes.

Forbes was shot dead while exiting a restaurant in Durban's Florida Road, on February 10, 2023.

His friend, celebrity chef Tebello 'Tibz' Motsoane, was also fatally wounded.

A prayer service and candlelight vigil was held outside Wish restaurant in Durban following the murders of Kiernan 'AKA' Forbes and Tebello 'Tibz' Motsoane.

The accused, Lindokuhle Thabani Mkhwanazi, Lindani Zenzele Ndimande, Siyanda Eddie Myeza, Mziwethemba Harvey Gwabeni and Lindokuhle Lindo Ndimande, have remained in custody since their arrests.

Two more suspects, Siyabonga Gezani Ndimande and Malusi Dave Ndimande, continue to fight against plans to have them returned to South Africa following their arrest in Eswatini.

Last month, the Durban Magistrate's Court turned down Gwabeni and Lindokuhle's applications for bail.

In his ruling Magistrate Vincent Hlatshwayo, said the facts presented before him were not new.

They face charges of conspiracy to commit murder, murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, five counts of attempted murder and money laundering. The men remain in custody.
