In a story published by IOL on March 12, 2024, IOL erroneously referred to Kwadukuza Local Municipality CFO Shamir Rajcoomar as having been suspended "on charges of bribery and corruption".
The information about the charges leading to his suspension were factually incorrect, and IOL has thus removed the inaccurate report.
There was no malicious intent to sully Mr Rajcoomar's name.
The error and embarrassment occasioned to Mr Rajcoomar is regretted.
