Three people have died in separate road crashes on KwaZulu-Natal roads this weekend.
Garrith Jamieson of ALS Paramedics said in the first crash on Saturday, a driver died after his car crashed on the M1, Higginson Highway in Chatsworth.
"On arrival paramedics found that a single vehicle had somehow lost control and overturned coming to rest on its roof. Paramedics found a male believed to be in his 30s had been ejected during the crash," Jamieson said.
He added that the man sustained major injuries and he died at the scene.
In the second crash, a driver was killed when his vehicle crashed on the M19 under the Otto Volek Road Bridge in Pinetown.
"Paramedics arrived on the scene to find the badly damaged vehicle in the centre median. It's is alleged that the single vehicle somehow lost control and collided with the concrete bridge. Paramedics found the driver severely entrapped in the wreckage. Immediately the eThekwini Fire Department was contacted to assist," Jamieson said.
He said the driver sustained major injuries and he was declared deceased at the scene.
On Friday, one person was killed after a vehicle veered off the roadway on the R102 near Maidstone in Tongaat
"Reports from the scene indicate that a light motor vehicle lost control and veered off the bridge before coming to rest on its roof," said IPSS Medical Rescue's Kelsey-Jae Meyrick.
Last week, 23 people were killed in several road accidents in the province.
