These, we are told, are not renderings, they're the real deal. These two pictures of the Honda Urban SUV concept, due to debut at the Detroit auto show tomorrow morning (Tuesday), have spread through the cybergarage like wildfire.
There's not much detail to go with them, but we do know that the production version (most likely to be shown late next year as a 2015 model) will be based on the new Jazz (or Fit, depending on where you are reading this) platform, so it's safe to assume it will share some of that model's engines, including a diesel where appropriate.
SCALED-DOWN CR-V
The concept, which is apparently just less than four metres long, is quite restrained as Honda prototypes go - possibly closer than most to the production version.
It's basically a scaled-down CR-V with some neat styling touches, especially the unusual split waistline and rear door catches set into the C pillar.
The production model will compete with the Nissan Juke, Fiat 500X and Peugeot 2008, and it will need a more stylish interior than recent efforts from Honda (notably the Civic) in order to stand out in a crowded market.
As soon as we know more, so will you.
