Daveyton’s Lethaukuthula Ayanda Maseko and eMalahleni’s Nobuhle Langa will not become the next Miss South Africa after the two beauties were eliminated from the Crown Chasers reality show at the weekend.

The reality show shows the journey to becoming Miss South Africa 2024. There are now 11 hopefuls left in the race to become the next Miss SA.

In the fifth episode of the Crown Chasers which aired at the weekend, the week was all about evoking the sense of strength and celebrating the power of woman with a focus on wellness and fitness.

For the first challenge, the beauty queens burnt some tar and went racing with Mercedes Benz as they did a go kart race.

Kempton Park’s Layla Zoubair and Soweto’s Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina were winners of this challenge and were awarded with a cryotherapy session.

For this cryotherapy treatment, the contestants were inserted into a cold room with near-freezing temperatures for no longer than 5 minutes. The treatment, which has physical and mental health benefits, makes use of the extreme cold temperatures to freeze and remove abnormal tissue.

It can also be used to treat warts, skin tags and some cancers, including prostate, cervical and liver cancer.

Mo fun

In the second challenge, the contestants had a fun obstacle course in partnership with DJ Sbu’s Mofaya Energy Drink.

On this challenge the judges were looking at their leadership skills and teamwork skills. The judges for this challenge included DJ Sbu and TV broadcaster Andile Ncube as guest judges.

The contestants were separated into teams of two, the yellow team and the red team. The yellow team won the second challenge by completing their obstacle course first.

Emalahleni’s Nobuhle Langa was the first contestant to be eliminated in the recent episode.

She took to instagram to thank everyone who supported her throughout her journey.

“Ngiyabonga. Thank you so much for your love and support. My journey to being Miss SA has officially ended, however my journey to being an ambassador for South Africa continues. I kindly ask that you join hands with me to empower the youth of SA through my non-profit company Langelihle youth foundation”.

Maseko also got eliminated.

“Shout out to everyone that has been supporting me throughout my Miss SA journey. Guys your love has been deeply felt and it means the world to me. It is unfortunate that I have to leave the competition right now but thank you so much”.
