Tokara, a family-owned estate on the Stellenbosch Wine Route, is celebrating 25 years of offering some of South Africa’s best wines, food, and breathtaking views.

Founded by GT and Anne-Marie Ferreira, Tokara has grown into a renowned winery and a symbol of the Ferreira family’s dedication to winemaking.

Their vision has been to create a place that combines beauty and quality and it has become a reality.

The estate, set against the stunning backdrop of the Simonsberg Mountains, is known for its ideal terroir, where cool breezes meet the warmth of the valley, perfect for producing exceptional wines.

Tokara offers an inviting wine tasting experience where visitors can sample a variety of wines, including crisp Sauvignon Blancs from Elgin and full-bodied reds from Simonsberg. In addition to wines, Tokara’s award-winning olive oils are also a highlight, with flavours ranging from light and fruity to rich and peppery.

The Restaurant at Tokara, led by chef Carolize Coetzee, features dishes inspired by local produce. The menu focuses on fresh, seasonal ingredients – much of it sourced from Tokara’s own farm. Guests can enjoy a variety of dishes, including line-caught fish and locally grown vegetables, in a relaxed and scenic setting.

For a more casual experience, Tokara’s Delicatessen offers a selection of farm-fresh goods such as breads, cheeses, and pastries. It’s an ideal spot for families, with a child-friendly outdoor area and a relaxed atmosphere perfect for a quick meal or snack.

As Tokara celebrates its 25th anniversary, it remains a top destination in the Cape Winelands, offering world-class wines, delicious food, and unforgettable views.

Whether you’re visiting for the wine, the food, or simply to enjoy the beautiful surroundings, Tokara promises an exceptional experience.
