The Checkers Little Shop minis are back, and while they are meant for the little one, it seems adults are having just as much, if not more, fun with them.

This year the giant retail store has come out with a new range of mini grocery items for shoppers to collect.

There are 44 minis to collect which include some of South Africa’s most favourite products.

This year it includes a Sixty60 delivery bike and van, Jacobs coffee, Huggies nappies, All Gold tomato sauce, Black Cat peanut butter, Tastic Rice, OMO washing powder, Kellogg's noodles, Energizer batteries and even Sunlight dish-washing liquid.

While the whole idea is for kids to collect and swap these tiny products, adults are amusing themselves with what some of the items can actually do.

This time around, Checkers made some of the items interactive - with some being scratch and sniff.

The Tango oranges box smells like oranges when you scratch the little box, while you can actually smell the coffee when you rub the Jacobs coffee toy.

One of the most popular items everyone seems to want to get their hands on is the airfryer which “lights up” when you rub the timer section of the miniature replica.

Other fun ones to have are the pool cleaner products. The Blu52 changes colour when dipped in water, while the Month Mate glows in the dark.

For these reasons, kids are now demanding that parents only shop at the retail store so that they can collect all 44 and parents are not objecting because they are so much fun.

Videos of adults revealing what they get in their little packages are now all over TikTok and some are even going viral.
