It's that time of the year, if you haven't already attended your year-end staff party, it's likely you're going to in the coming week.
While the staff party is a time to relax and unwind from the hectic year, it's never a time to unwind to a point of totally unravelling as is the case with an Australian-based recruitment firm CEO who revealed some 'rather left unsaid' secrets to his staff, according to news.com.au.
Delivering his speech at the Sharp and Carter firm's year end via Zoom, Stephen Carter revealed that he took drugs.
"I take drugs myself, I just don't do it at work events," he said in a video that was recorded by staff and posted online.
"Because that's when things get really out of hand. If you take drugs at the Christmas party, you'll be fired. It's really a strong rule," Carter added.
Carter advised staff not to cheat on their partners with work colleagues.
"If you are going to cheat on your partner and you have to do it, just don't do it with someone at work it really becomes problematic as we have seen. If you are single we have got lots of people who have met their partner here," Carter told staff.
When Carter was informed that his speech had gone viral, he said he did not expect it to be shared online.
He added that he should have chosen his words more carefully.
In his defence, Carter said he simply wanted to look out for his staff.
