The excitement continues to mount as the Cape Town International Jazz Festival (CTIJF) reveals the next wave of artists set to take the stage in 2025.

With an eclectic mix of local and international stars, this phase 2 announcement adds even more depth to an already spectacular line-up. And with phase 3 still to come, the best is yet to be unveiled!

This year’s phase 2 line-up showcases a diverse range of jazz influences, spanning contemporary, avant-garde, soul, funk and fusion. The Ploemies bring genre-blurring brilliance with their innovative, high-energy performances that defy classification. 

Celebrated trombonist and bandleader Malcolm Jiyane delivers a captivating blend of spiritual jazz and experimental improvisation that has enthralled audiences.

For those drawn to the rich tapestry of Afro-soul and folk, Bongeziwe Mabandla offers a deeply emotive and soulful sound that bridges jazz with African storytelling traditions. Similarly, iPhupho L’ka Biko continues to push the boundaries of African jazz with their socially conscious compositions and intricate instrumentals.

On the international front, the CTIJF welcomes the jazz-infused brilliance of Cape Town-born Muneeb Hermans, the legendary British acid jazz pioneers Incognito, and the unmistakable swagger of Masego, whose fusion of jazz, R&B, and trap elements continues to captivate audiences worldwide.

Adding to the line-up, the mesmerizing Bombay Lights will bring an electrifying mix of modern jazz and electronic soundscapes.

Phase 1 already set the bar high with a phenomenal mix of artists that had fans buzzing with excitement. The announcement of global house music icon Black Coffee, jazz maestro Nduduzo Makhathini, R&B sensation Ari Lennox, beloved songstress Lira, the ever-powerful Thandiswa Mazwai, virtuoso bassist Benjamin Jephta featuring Kujenga, and the dynamic Kyle Shepherd Trio laid the foundation for what promises to be an unforgettable festival.
