Last night, our community WhatsApp group was spinning out. (I happen to live near the University of KwaZulu-Natal so yep, student town!)
"Crazy screams. It sounds as if students are crying," read the first message.
"I also heard a group of women screaming hysterically," added another.
I waited for more messages...thinking the worst.
"They are celebrating Sweet Guluva on Big Brother. He won millions," came the final message!
And while the students were overjoyed at the win, Akhonamathemba Mbele aka Sweet Guluva could not hold back the tears after emerging as the ultimate King of Umlilo in Sunday's night's Big Brother Mzansi.
The 23-year-old student from KwaZulu-Natal is now R2million richer!
After several weeks of unforgettable moments, twists, tears, and lots of laughter, he was crowned the winner!
Before the spotlight turned to the ultimate reveal, Biggie’s voice echoed through the house one last time. His emotional farewell was a tribute to their resilience, growth, and the bonds they formed in the most extraordinary of circumstances. It was a moment filled with gratitude, reflection, and hope – a gentle closing of one chapter, and the start of something new.
Final evictions
The first housemate to be given the boot was Jojo, followed by Nate and Nsuku. This left Sweet Guluva and Uyanda as the final two on the stage.
When asked what was the first thing she's doing when she gets home, Jojo told Smash Afrika, she's going to the club!
"I didn't win the R2-million, but I made it to the top 5, and I’m a two-time HOH winner," she added.
Meanwhile, Nate said the free kisses were the highlight of the season for her.
Sweet Guluva and Uyanda were super grateful and proud of how far they have come in the game. With tears in his eyes, Sweet Guluva could not put words together to express his emotions after watching his journey video.
We all love a winner!
