While Martha Stewart has cornered the market as the TV doyenne when it comes to homemade recipes, DIY, decor and crafts, times are changing as new faces join the fray.
“With Love, Meghan”, hosted by Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, is currently the talk of the town. The eight-part series recently dropped on Netflix.
As one of the most Googled royal figures, the former “Suits” actress sparked interest with her new lifestyle show.
Of course, the one-pot spaghetti dish she made in episode one left netizens divided. But, hey, love or loath her, she's not going anywhere.
While some streamers have taken a strong liking to the show, others have not. And that’s okay. It’s not for everyone.
I am indifferent to the show, though, as it does feel like a massive PR stunt to ingratiate her by showing a more nurturing side - after all, she’s proved her chops as an actress.
This show is perfect to pass the time while wrapping up chores and meal prepping.
What I gleaned from the two episodes I’ve seen so far is that she’s a serial preserver and she’s passionate about organic food and growing them.
Who knew she had so many DIY tricks up her sleeve, too?
As the people she knows and loves drop by through the episodes, she tapers their favourite treats in line with the theme of the episode.
Meghan is all about personalised touches and little notes, which, I have to say, she does so well. Her calligraphy is next-level for sure.
It’s clear to see she takes her role as a mother and wife very seriously. In every episode, she shares anecdotes of her family, which are endearing.
I’ve certainly taken a few pointers about whipping up quick treats like parfaits as well as candle making and, without eliminating party planners, making those balloon arches for those kiddie parties.
Again, she may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but Meghan does have some skills when it comes to being the hostess with the mostest. Let’s give her her flowers on that!
