South African award-winning actress, executive producer, and humanitarian Nomzamo Mbatha will be strutting her best walk on the runway in Milan for local fashion house Khosi Nkosi.

The renowned designer’s partnership with African Bank is going international and will be taking part in Milan and Paris Fashion Week in March.

“I’m very honoured that I will be joining them in Milan and walking the runway and I’m very excited about that.

“For me, it’s important that if you say you are going to back people you take them from where they start to the place they never imagined and that is the power of true investment,” shared Mbatha at African Bank headquarters where the collections headed to Milan and Paris were showcased.

Mbatha shared how she purposely crafted her image during her breakout year and decided how she wanted to be seen as a proud African girl when it comes to her appearance. “Khosi Nkosi was the team.

“I was the girl who was teased for always being in African print but sure enough those African weddings people were flocking to YDE and Khosi Nkosi. So for us, it’s a beautiful full-circle moment, what started on African soil gets to be taken to the international ground.

Khosi Nkosi will debut the Legacy and Frontline collections, which feature Ankara prints, knitwear inspired by West Africa, and adaptable styles for both men and women, infusing banking attire with warmth and vibrancy with an unmistakable African flair.

The fashion house is known for its stylish take on African fashion, perfect for traditional events. Last year, they were awarded the partnership to create a fresh take on the African Bank uniform.

“This journey has been nothing short of transformative. This is what can happen when businesses truly invest in local talent. The world is about to see the richness of African creativity and craftsmanship,” said Nobukhosi and Thabo Mukwevho.

The power couple, Thabo who is the marketing director, and Nobukhosi who is the creative, shared how the partnership grew their business taking them from a team of four to forty and now they will be conquering international runways.

The UN Global Goodwill Ambassador and founder of the Nomzamo Lighthouse Foundation, last year was announced as the bank's brand ambassador.

On March 1, Khosi Nkosi and African Bank will take on Milan Fashion Week, a pinnacle of global fashion, for the unveiling of the Legacy Collection at the iconic Villa Erba in Lake Como.

At the Shangri-La Hotel in Paris on March 9, the Frontline Collection – the African Bank staff uniform collection will be showcased.

Edna Montse, African Bank's Group Executive: Transformation and Sustainability, says: “To see our uniform collection embraced at Paris Fashion Week is something truly extraordinary.

“It speaks volumes about the audacity of African Bank - not only as a financial institution but as a brand that dares to redefine the norms. This is a moment of pride, not just for us but for every African who dares to dream.”
