Controversial Limpopo rapper, Shebeshxt, took to his Facebook page to clear the air on criticism that he was driving under the influence of alcohol.
A video of Shebeshxt got people talking after it showed alcohol in his new car, just months after a crash that killed his young daughter.
In response to the backlash, the rapper asked critics if they knew he was drinking from the brown bottle they saw in the car with him in the video. He scolded people and asked them if he would have been free if he had been drunk at the time of the accident.
"Botse Taba Yaore Ke Kreile Accident Ke Nwele Le Ekwele Mang? Leraore Nkebe Ke Nwele Nkabe Kele Free Or Nkabe Ke Swerwi? Nou Sio Brown Bottle Ye Le E Bonang Kua Videong Kele Ka Koloing Le Sure Gore Ebe Enwa Kenna? Le Busy Kanna Too Much, Lesa Cheki Maphelo Alena," he wrote.
Loosely translated: "Where did you get the news that I was under the influence when I was involved in a car accident? If I were drunk would I still be free or would I have been arrested? Now you guys see a brown bottle with me in the car in a video, are you sure I was the one drinking it? You guys are too focused on me and are not checking your own lives."
The video shows Shebeshxt, whose real name is Lehlogonolo Chauke, with a bottle of alcohol near the driver’s seat. Other clips show his passengers drinking in the car.
Social media users are split in their opinions.
Some are defending him, arguing that he is simply having fun, while others express concerns about drinking and driving, especially in light of his fatal accident in June.
