Cassper Nyovest’s father, Letsebela Phoolo, recently celebrated his birthday, and Nyovest’s baby mama, Thobeka Majozi, also wished him.
Taking to Instagram stories, Majozi wrote how grateful she is for her son’s grandfather.
“Happy birthday to my father that’s so young at heart that he still can’t believe he’s a grandpa. Thank you for everything. We love you so much,” she wrote.
X users were left divided by the post and shared their thoughts.
While some thought it was a beautiful gesture, others said there was no need for her to label her ex’s dad as her father.
“A simple ‘happy birthday to my son's grandad’ wasn't enough,” questioned @Aus_Keke.
Another X user, @Reign_C0C0, said: “This is weird ... Cassper needs to create boundaries between his family and his BM (baby mama).
“Yes, they might have a good relationship, but this is unnecessary. She could have just referred to him as 'grandpa' because that's the relationship that exists between them …”
However, some came to Majozi’s defence, saying there’s nothing wrong with her calling Phoolo her father because they are basically family.
“The comments here just show that y'all are used to the toxic family dynamics. Your child's paternal family is your family nawe (as well). You're literally bonded for life with them,” said @odd_inary_.
Furthermore, Majozi has a good relationship with the Phoolo family because even Nyovest’s sister is fond of her. They are always spending time together, looking after Khotso (Nyovest and Mojozi’s son).
