Nadia Nakai recently turned up the heat at a local club performance, with rapper Cassper Nyovest and his wife, Pulane.

Naturally, this trio’s presence at the same place sent social media into a frenzy, dissecting every interaction and facial expression as if they were watching the latest soapie drama.

In a now-viral video, Nakai, once the first lady of Nyovest’s Family Tree record label, was spotted giving it her all on stage while performing their 2017 banger, "Naaa Meaan".

But here’s where things get juicy: as she worked the mic, Nyovest sat beside Pulane, who didn't seem thrilled.

Nyovest’s body language appeared awkward, to say the least, and the internet was quick to notice.

Mzansi took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to dissect the vibes — or lack thereof.

Nakai was signed to Family Tree in 2016, with Nyovest recognising her talent and potential to shake up the South African hip-hop scene.

Their collaboration on "Naaa Meaan" was meant to be a powerhouse duo moment, and it was so for a while. Fast forward to the present day, and the energy between them seems to have shifted.

Additionally, back in the day, there have been persistent rumours suggesting a romantic relationship between Nakai and Nyovest, largely due to their close professional collaboration under his label.

However, both artists denied the claims, maintaining that their relationship was and is strictly professional.

But what got everyone talking about the recent performance was the icy vibes radiating from Pulane, who married Nyovest in a private ceremony back in 2022.

Mzansi fans didn’t hold back, speculating on everything from Pulane’s seemingly disapproving looks to the tension between the former collaborators.

Some questioned whether there’s more to the story than just an awkward performance, while others defended Nakai, calling out the public for reading too much into it.

@papizwane2 commented: “Nadia definitely doesn’t recognise any boundaries and that’s Casper’s fault. This doesn’t even look like an actual performance but she’s all up in there 😅 In summary … bayazana benqunu laba 🤞🏿🤞🏿.”

@nthabiseng_ms commented: “You can tell Cassper is uncomfortable, he keeps trying to give her her mic back. She's weird for this.”

@rueracks also wrote: “Nadia is weird for this. Embarrassing.”

While @Thiba_mowe commented: “She must stay at home with the kids while the man's works then. Don't she know who she married? This would have been avoided nje. Imagine if we all brought our women to our work places.? 😭😭😭😭.”

I guess in the club, we are all not family.
