It’s no secret that rapper and songwriter J Molly has had numerous mental health setbacks over the years which have led to him attempting suicide.
Earlier this year, he spoke about having such thoughts every day since childhood.
In June, he announced the death of his old self after giving his life to Jesus, declaring that he has been renewed and his new name was Yishai.
Reflecting on his life as he turned 26 earlier this week, the “Life or Death” hitmaker confessed to attempting to take his life a staggering 20 times, eight of them being this year.
He took to Instagram to shared the stats.
“Over 20 suicide attempts, eight being this year alone, and I’m still here. It’s nothing short of an absolute miracle I’m here,” read a part of his post.
Now that he is embracing his new-found faith, he shared: “I was the last person who could’ve been convinced of Christ and here I am.
“Now that my barn has burnt down, I see the moon. All praise to The Most High, Jesus Christ Of Nazareth. Not my will but His will be done.”
Fans offered him words of encouragement.

@clubmidnyt opened up about his struggle: “Tried my first suicide attempt this year and, somehow, I survived too. I’ve been devoted to Christ since. Happy Birthday, though, Molly. Incredibly proud of you and the man you’ve become. Love from Malawi.”
