Kanye West (aka Ye) has revealed why his new album is called “Bully”.
The rapper has shared that the name was inspired by his nine-year-old son, Saint.
"My son was playing with some kid and then he kicked him," the 47-year-old told Justin Laboy on “The Download” podcast.
"I asked my son, I said, 'Why did you do that?' And he said, 'Cause he weak.'"
He continued, "And I was like, 'This man is really a bully right here’. Don't Saint do that? Just kick everybody and like push him over."
West shares four children with ex-wife, Kim Kardashian. They are parents to North, 11, Saint, nine, Chicago, seven, and Psalm, five.
On the podcast, Kanye also shared his belief that he was an Emperor King in a past life, which is why he loves spending time in Japan.
"I love the temples. I love how people are with you, it's just really respectful," he admitted. "And my wife said that in a past life I was a king, I was an emperor out here."
“Bully” is set for release on June 15 this year, in order to coincide with North’s 12th birthday.
He has previously credited his eldest daughter as inspiring the album.
"This little girl made me love music again," he captioned a post on Instagram of the two in the studio.
"She asked me to make beats for her. I got back on the ASR Chopped up beats for album and chopped every beat with my bare hand for BULLY."
