Durban — Arrest warrants have been issued for suspects wanted by the Hawks in KwaZulu-Natal in connection with a Pietermaritzburg fraud case.
KZN Hawks spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Simphiwe Mhlongo said: “Hawks members from Pietermaritzburg Serious Commercial Crime Investigation are looking for Nkosinathi Sboniso Mtambo, 41, Themba Nkosikhona Nhleko, 33, and Phumlani Experience Mhlongo, 36, in relation with a case of fraud which happened in Pietermaritzburg.”
Mhlongo said that on April 6, 2023, fraudulent payments were made from the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development banking system to businesses that were not entitled to receive the funds.
“The wanted suspects are believed to be around Durban,” Mhlongo said.
“Warrants of arrests have been issued for them.”
Mhlongo said anyone with information on their whereabouts is requested to contact Captain Brad Swift at 082 567 4146 or 033 845 8534.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, SAPS detectives in the Sekhukhune District in Limpopo have launched a massive manhunt to arrest a most-wanted suspect, Lovemore Musoyi, a Zimbabwean national, believed to be around 35 years old.
“Musoyi is wanted in connection with more than 10 criminal cases, including murder, attempted murder, armed robberies, house robberies, business robberies, kidnapping, assaults, stock theft, and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition that occurred in Elandskraal, Motetema, Dennilton, Rakgoadi policing area in Sekhukhune District,” SAPS said on their Facebook page.
Police said one of the recent incidents involving Musoyi occurred on June 20, at about 7.45pm, where he and his accomplices allegedly carried out a brazen business robbery at a tuck shop in Mafisheng village. During the robbery, Musoyi allegedly viciously attacked a male victim with an axe, whom he accused of betrayal. The suspects then looted the shop, stealing money and soft drinks before fleeing the scene.
In another incident, on February, 2, Musoyi allegedly engaged in a violent altercation at his ex-girlfriend’s home during which he allegedly shot his ex-girlfriend’s brother in the mouth before he fled the scene with a television set.
On January 1, 2023, Musoyi managed to escape from a police vehicle at Moutse Mall in Dennilton en route to Witbank Correctional Services. This escape occurred alongside two other suspects, who were subsequently re-arrested.

In another matter, in Limpopo, Thohoyandou police have intensified efforts to locate an awaiting-trial prisoner, Pfundzo Eddie Ramafamba, who is on the run after escaping from lawful custody.
“The 33-year-old accused escaped from custody on Tuesday morning, July 9, when he was about to attend court at Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court. Ramafamba was detained on charges of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm and intimidation,” police said.
“The circumstances surrounding the escape are still under police investigations.”
