Durban — Police recovered three AK47 rifles and a pistol and arrested three men at a taxi rank.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Nqobile Gwala said that on Thursday police received information about three men who were posing as security guards at the Molweni taxi rank.

“The team proceeded to the taxi rank where three men were caught carrying three AK47 rifles and a pistol. Police officers also seized 114 rounds of ammunition,” Gwala said.

“Three suspects aged between 31 and 42 were placed under arrest for unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition. They appeared before the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court on November 11, 2022.”
