The Cape Town International Jazz Festival (CTIJF) continues to elevate its already stellar line-up with two powerhouse international acts - Incognito and Masego - joining the bill, along with Cape Town’s own rising star, Muneeb Hermans

Bringing their signature blend of jazz, funk and soul, British acid jazz pioneers Incognito are set to ignite the stage with their dynamic and timeless sound. Since their inception in 1979, the band has defined the acid jazz movement, delivering global hits like "Still a Friend of Mine" and their legendary rendition of Stevie Wonder’s "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing”.

Their performances are nothing short of electrifying, blending intricate musical arrangements with infectious grooves that transcend generations. Having wowed South African audiences before, their return is set to be a major highlight of the festival.

Joining them is the sensational Masego, a master of the “trap house jazz” genre, who effortlessly fuses jazz, R&B, and hip hop. Born Micah Davis, this Jamaican-American multi-instrumentalist shot to global fame with the viral hit "Tadow" alongside FKJ, amassing over 200 million views on YouTube.

With acclaimed projects like “Lady Lady”, “Studying Abroad: Extended Stay”, and his 2023 self-titled album, Masego has solidified his reputation as one of the most innovative artists of his generation.

His performances are immersive experiences, seamlessly blending live looping, saxophone mastery, and smooth vocals. Returning to Cape Town after captivating crowds in previous years, Masego’s set promises to be a must-see moment of the festival.

Masego has solidified his reputation as one of the most innovative artists of his generation.

But the international stars aren’t the only ones bringing the heat - SA’s own Hermans is making waves both locally and abroad. The Cape Town-born trumpeter and composer, whose roots lie in the Cape Minstrel tradition, has emerged as one of the country’s finest jazz talents.

A UCT graduate, Hermans has performed at renowned festivals worldwide, including London’s EFG Jazz Festival, and even graced the stage at Carnegie Hall. His debut album “One for HP” showcases his exquisite artistry, marking him as a standout voice in contemporary jazz.

Muneeb Hermans has emerged as one of the country’s finest jazz talents.

"This year’s line-up is truly something special," said talent manager of the CTIJF, Lindsay Rhoda.

"We’re bringing together icons, innovators, and rising stars - each artist representing the best of jazz and its many influences. Incognito, Masego, and Muneeb Hermans all bring something uniquely powerful to the festival, and we can’t wait for audiences to experience their magic live.

"This is what the Cape Town International Jazz Festival is all about - unforgettable performances, cultural connections, and the unifying power of music,” said Rhoda.

With these new additions, CTIJF 2025 is set to be a musical spectacle like no other, reaffirming its status as Africa’s grandest gathering of jazz excellence. Get ready to experience the magic!
