Cape Town - In what could be a game-changer for South Africa’s transition to renewable energy, Cape Town-based energy company Veers Group and Chinese solar giants Aiko Energy have unveiled a new joint venture called Aiko Energy SA.
The partnership aims to transform the country’s solar sector by combining Aiko’s cutting-edge N-Type ABC solar modules with the Veers Group’s local expertise.
Aiko Energy SA will focus on developing utility-scale and distribution solar sectors across South Africa and growing its distribution footprint across the country and the African continent.
The venture is also committed to black economic empowerment and sustainable growth.
Managing director of Aiko Energy SA, Muneeb Gambeno, said the partnership not only leverages Veers Group’s extensive expertise in South Africa but also prioritises the upliftment of local communities, thereby driving meaningful, sustainable growth in the region.
Veers Group is a black-owned and operated energy company that participates in private procurement, battery supply and solar supply.

The strategic collaboration aims to accelerate South Africa’s shift towards a low-carbon future by making the highest efficiency solar technology widely accessible to utility-scale, commercial, industrial and residential solar sectors.
Aiko solar modules will be distributed through the joint venture, allowing both companies to share customer resources.
