The South African Social Media Awards (#SASMA24) make a thrilling return this year, promising to take things a notch up, providing a meaningful experience for attendees while spotlighting the industry’s finest personalities.
The prestigious event set to happen on November 23, is dedicated to honouring the outstanding contributions of brands, influencers, and digital tools that shape the ever-evolving social media landscape.
With a strong focus on creativity, impact, and innovation, the SASMAs are the ultimate recognition for social media personalities who inspire, entertain, and engage audiences across platforms.
Kutlwano Radebe, Nicole Capper, Hope Malatsi, and Tinashe Kembo will be among the esteemed experts who will carefully evaluate entries across various categories to celebrate the best campaigns, individuals, and digital tools.
This year the awards will follow the theme “My World, My Story”, inviting participants and audiences to reflect on the powerful stories shared through social media—stories that connect, shape world views, and drive change.
The #SASMA24 will not only highlight the best in the industry but also foster connections and collaborations among the leading voices in social media.
In addition to the awards ceremony, this year’s event will feature a series of engaging activities, including a golf day with stakeholders, further cementing the SASMAs as the premier event on the social media calendar.
The awards will also unveil the announcement of #SASMA24, the trailblazers who are setting new benchmarks in social media excellence.
Weza Matomane, founder and CEO of BlueCloudAI, said, “As the brand ambassador for the South African Social Media Awards (SASMA), I’m excited to share what you can expect from this year’s event. This year’s SASMA is set to be bigger and better than ever, celebrating the very best in social media excellence across South Africa.”
Matomane said they had an incredible line-up of nominees across various categories, representing the most innovative and influential voices in social media today.
From groundbreaking influencers to brands that have mastered the art of digital engagement, this year’s nominees showcase the diversity and talent within our online community.
“Last year we introduced new categories to reflect the evolving landscape of social media. These additions aim to recognise emerging trends and honour those who are pushing the boundaries of content creation, storytelling, and digital marketing.
“This year, we’re placing a strong emphasis on audience participation. Not only will the public have a significant role in determining the winners through voting, but we’re also offering interactive elements throughout the awards process. Fans will have the chance to engage with their favourite nominees, participate in social media challenges, and even win exclusive experiences,” Matomane said.
